On September 2, YG Entertainment released an official statement saying, “We are taking the production and distribution of inappropriate deepfake (AI-generated synthetic videos) content involving our artists very seriously.”

The company continued, “We are continuously monitoring these widespread and malicious illegal activities and working to remove and block the illegal videos. We are also pursuing all possible legal actions, including criminal procedures.”

YG Entertainment emphasized, “We will continue to respond firmly and strictly to all illegal activities that seriously harm the dignity and honor of our artists.

Meanwhile, the police have received 88 reports within a week of their special crackdown on deepfake-related sexual crimes, which began on August 28. It has been confirmed that there are 51 victims, and the police have identified 24 suspects, initiating a full-scale investigation.
