Recently, various photos and videos of Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi wearing swimsuits and going for a swim together were shared in a private group chat of sasaeng fans (obsessive fans).
It is revealed that the aforementioned footage was filmed secretly in 2023 by a group of Indonesian sasaeng fans, who bought information about Red Velvet’s accommodation during the SM Town concert in Jakarta.
After acquiring the location, they booked rooms at the same hotel that Red Velvet stayed at to stalk the members more easily.
Accordingly, the sasaeng fans tailed Irene and Seulgi to a private pool, where they photographed and filmed the two idols without consent. This fact was sadly only discovered recently, after screenshots of the sasaeng fan group chat got exposed.
Unfortunately, despite this being a severe violation of the artists’ privacy, many Indonesian fans decided to keep silent.
They are even telling each other to not translate and share such information to English, in fear that SM will take measures and no longer hold SMtown concerts in the country.
