On November 5th, a video titled Forever Exists… | Big Bang’s Comeback After 7 Years | ZIP Daesung ep.29 was uploaded to Daesung’s YouTube channel, ZIP Daesung. The episode featured G-Dragon and Taeyang as guests, showcasing Big Bang as a group and generating much excitement. However, some of G-Dragon’s remarks became a point of contention.
G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang reminisced about a dance battle they had with JYP trainees early in their careers. G-Dragon and Taeyang recalled defeating Jay Park and Jun. K, while Daesung mentioned, “It started with RAIN and SE7EN. The showing off to each other.” In response, G-Dragon joked, “During the battle between RAIN and SE7EN… We lost, as far as I know,” which made the others laugh. Following the broadcast, Se7en responded on social media, saying, “Seems like my bros have a few things wrong,” correcting G-Dragon’s comments.
Additionally, Se7en addressed the Big Bang members’ claim on ZIP Daesung that they were the first to create a fan light stick, saying, “The best was the ‘7Bong (Se7en’s light stick),’” further asserting his claim.
The public call-out sparked mixed reactions among netizens. Some commented, “G-Dragon must feel embarrassed,” “It was just a joke, no need to take it so seriously,” and “He’s dumping cold water on a nostalgic conversation.” Others, however, sided with Se7en, saying, “If I were Se7en, I’d call him out too,” “He must have felt offended,” and “Se7en did start it with the ‘7 Bong,’ and G-Dragon was a bit thoughtless.”
Meanwhile, G-Dragon recently made his comeback after seven years with the single Power. He is set to perform on stage for the first time in nine years at the 2024 MAMA Awards on the 23rd.
