An alcoholic trying to get her life together and a medical specialist who is her first love meet years later, with a personality different from what they used to be. But what is it that reunites them in their hometown years later?

Han Geum-joo is a veteran car mechanic who is good at her job and loves socializing with people from work over alcohol. While she considers herself to be a sensible drinker, she is soon diagnosed with alcohol dependency, and finally decides to sober up. During this time, she reunites with her first love and friend Seo Ui-joon, who works as a medical specialist at a prestigious university hospital in Seoul.

Seo Ui-joon was once a kind and empathetic friend to Geum-joo and later went on to work as a medical specialist in the big city. However, years later, he returns due to unknown reasons and begins working as a director at the public health center. The reasons behind his return are also the reasons behind his change in personality, as he is no longer the kind of friend Geum-joo remembers. He is now heartless and unsympathetic towards Geum-joo’s alcohol dependency.

One friend is in love with alcohol, while the other hates anything to do with alcohol. So, how will things work out for these two friends who have lost their way to each other for years now? What is the reason behind Ui-joon’s return to his hometown?

Second Shot at Love takes over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 8:50 PM KST time slot previously occupied by The Divorce Insurance. The new Korean drama is set to release on May 12th, 2025, and will continue broadcasting until June 17th, 2025. The series consists of 12 episodes that will be released 2 episodes per week on the days mentioned above.
