According to OSEN on January 1, Seohyun recently injured herself while filming a drama. Despite her condition, she still appeared as an MC at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards held at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on December 31.
Alongside co-hosts Jang Sung-kyu and Moon Sang-min, Seohyun participated in the ceremony, which, in light of the recent Jeju Air plane tragedy, was recorded instead of broadcast live. The award winners and ceremony recording will be revealed at a later date.
Seohyun stunned the audience in a white long dress, showcasing her beauty and professionalism as a host. However, fans were surprised to notice her limping or using a white cane in her right hand while moving between stages.
In released footage, Seohyun could be seen walking with a noticeable limp and relying on her cane, evoking concern from fans. Despite her discomfort, she completed her hosting duties flawlessly and waved warmly to fans.
A representative for Seohyun confirmed to OSEN, “It is true that she was injured during drama filming. She is currently undergoing treatment and recovering. She plans to return to the drama set soon.”
Seohyun is currently filming KBS2’s new drama “The First Night With the Duke” alongside 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon. It has been reported that the injury occurred during the production of this series. The actress is focusing on her recovery and is expected to rejoin filming shortly.
“The First Night With the Duke” is a romance fantasy drama set to air this year. The story follows Cha Seon-chaek (played by Seohyun), a minor background character in a novel, whose life takes a dramatic turn when her body is possessed by the spirit of a modern-day college student. She inadvertently spends a night with the obsessive male lead Gyeongseong-gun (played by Ok Taecyeon).
In the drama, Seohyun portrays Cha Seon-chaek, a privileged character of wealth and status who dreams of living a simple and carefree life. However, her plans are upended when a college student’s spirit unexpectedly inhabits her body, leading to unintentional chaos in the storyline.
