Live Nation Draws Flak for Numerous Accidents During SEVENTEEN’s Concert in the Philippines

After finishing their schedules in Japan and attending the 2024 Golden Disc Awards, SEVENTEEN continued on to the next leg of their Asian tour, “Follow.” Their most recent stop was Bulacan, the Philippines, with a two-day concert from January 13 to 14.

The concert was held at the Philippines Arena and was attended by tens of thousands of fans filling the seats. Here, CARATs experienced unique and immersive moments with their favorite idols.

However, a number of organizational accidents and unfavorable weather conditions occurred during the two-night show, leading to several accidents.

One of the biggest issues CARATs had to endure was the stadium deteriorating. Many of the seats were cracked, and one whole bench fell out of the seating area. There was also broken cement everywhere, leaving concertgoers terrified. Fans took to social media to share images of the venue, sparking controversy concerning the safety of people who attended the concert.

Additionally, the hot and humid weather in the Philippines caused several inconveniences for concertgoers. One unspoken rule for event organizers is to provide an ample amount of drinking water.

Previously, the organizers of Taylor Swift’s concert in Brazil sparked backlash after several fans fainted due to dehydration and heat stroke. Since then, many have urged concert organizers to make sure attendees can buy or receive water.

However, this did not happen. Many fans attending SEVENTEEN’s concert complained that the local organizations did not provide enough water at the stadium. Since concertgoers were not allowed to bring their own food and drinks that were not bought from the venue, many slammed Live Nation for being negligent.

Realizing that fans in the stadium were suffering from dehydration, the SEVENTEEN members took it upon themselves to toss water bottles to fans in the standing area.

The first day of SEVENTEEN’s two-day concert saw most of the tragedy. During the concert, fans were seen fainting, likely due to crowding or dehydration. Spotting this, members Hoshi, Wonwoo, and The8 immediately sprung into action.

Hoshi urged security to assist the fan who fainted. The other members tried to calm down concertgoers while also reminding them to take care of their health, step back, and be respectful of other people who were watching the concert with them.

While many praised SEVENTEEN for caring so much for their fans, people could not hide their dissatisfaction with the organizers. The tickets were already criticized for being too expensive, and yet the conditions people had to endure were not up to par with expectations.

SEVENTEEN Seungkwan Leaves Concert Mid-Way Due to Health Reasons

During day one, many were saddened when member Seungkwan had to leave the concert early. S.Coups and Jeonghan were already not in attendance due to health reasons, so Seungkwan’s absence was felt by all those in attendance.

Thankfully, Seungkwan recovered and was able to join the members for the second day of the concert.

In mid-2023, Seungkwan took a hiatus from activities due to health reasons. After a short break, he returned to activities in October 2023. Though SEVENTEEN always shows their best sides, many hope the group is not sacrificing their health due to their busy schedule.
