SEVENTEEN Receives Appreciation Plaque from LA City Council “Building Cultural Bridge Connecting the World”

On Nov 8th (local time), LA City Council invited SEVENTEEN’s Joshua to City Hall to present the appreciation plaque. The appreciation plaque is given to organizations and individuals who have contributed to arts, culture and the community. LA City Council recognized SEVENTEEN for promoting the city through their performances and “The City” project.

The event was attended by several LA City Council members, including Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Katy Yaroslavsky, John Lee, Traci Park and Tim McOsker. Hundreds of fans also gathered around LA City Hall to show support for Joshua.

Joshua expressed his gratitude, “I am deeply honored to receive this appreciation plaque on behalf of my team. It’s a pleasure to be able to promote SEVENTEEN in LA.” He added, “I’m proud that we can show our beloved CARATs (fandom name) around the city. I hope SEVENTEEN and LA can shine together through our performances and ‘SEVENTEEN The City LA’.

He also noted, “SEVENTEEN and LA share a foundation in diversity, which opens up infinite possibilities. LA has risen as a global entertainment hub through the vibrance of its diverse community, and SEVENTEEN is a group of 13 unique individuals coming together to create our own dynamic energy and creativity.

Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky praised SEVENTEEN as “an incredible K-pop group that has conquered the world. They’ve built a cultural bridge connecting fans around the globe with more than just music.”

She added, “SEVENTEEN has consistently delivered a message of positivity and unity, inspiring millions of people. Their influence continues to grow. As UNESCO’s first-ever Goodwill Ambassador for Youth, they advocate for diversity and inclusion, impacting people’s lives meaningfully.”
