Shin Ye-eun Praises Kim Tae-ri as Her Main Support on “Jeongnyeon”, Reflecting on Their Acting Bond

On October 25, a video titled “Is Acting Spicy? This Video is Cool Piece and Steamed Egg | Shin Ye-eun | Cosmopolitan Talk Talk” was uploaded on the Cosmopolitan Korea channel.

In the video, Shin Ye-eun, who plays Heo Young-seo in the trending drama “Jeongnyeon”, responded to questions. When asked about the differences between her character Young-seo and Yeon-jin from “The Glory”, she said, “Yeon-jin is evil, while Young-seo is not. There’s a difference between malice and grit. I don’t think Young-seo is a bad person; she’s just gentle at heart, but her outward expression is different, while Yeon-jin has a bad heart.”

Regarding the differences in portraying the 2 characters, Shin Ye-eun noted, “Yeon-jin often smiles, while Young-seo frequently maintains a blank expression to hide her weaknesses and fears. Young-seo tends to speak sharply or use a cold tone, often acting defensively.”

When asked what she is currently into, she said, “I’m not particularly obsessed with anything, but since our drama ‘Jeongnyeon’ is airing, I’m really focused on it. I feel excited about how it will be received, and I’ve been having a lot of conversations and meals with my fellow cast members from the Maeran National Opera Company, which brings me small happiness.”

In response to the question about which cast member she relies on the most, she answered, “It must be Kim Tae-ri. She was my closest partner and someone I’ve always admired, and I’ve learned a lot from her acting.”

Meanwhile, tvN’s “Jeongnyeon”, set in the aftermath of the Korean War in the 1950s, tells the story of Yoon Jeong-nyeon, a “born genius” striving to become the top national opera actor, capturing themes of competition, solidarity, and a brilliant coming-of-age journey. The show has gained popularity, surpassing 12% viewership ratings within just 4 episodes.
