‘Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born’ is already controversial due to censorship rumors. The series was allegedly supposed to feature a GL relationship, but the LGBTQ storyline was removed prior to the premiere. Fans have been very outspoken about it.

‘Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born’ “is based on a popular webcomic of the same name, and it follows the life of Jeongnyeon, a trainee at a local theatre company called Maeran Gukgeuk-dan, set in the 1950s post-Korean War. She achieves her dream of becoming one of South Korea’s best female classical opera singers,” ‘Disney Plus’ stated in its official synopsis. The series also stars Kim Tae Ri, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, and Kim Yoon Hye.

The period musical premieres tomorrow at 9:20 PM KST on tvN and airs every Saturday and Sunday. The global audience can stream the series on Disney Plus.

Shin Ye Eun is famous for her Kdramas ‘The Glory,’ ‘Yumi’s Cells Season 2,’ ‘A-Teen,” and ‘He is Psychometric.’

She is enamored to star alongside Kim Tae Ri. Shin Ye Eun opened up about working with her in this new series.

“I felt proud and excited to work with a senior I’ve respected since before my debut. Even on days when we weren’t filming, we practiced together almost every day,” she said in an exclusive interview, according to a report from ‘Soompi.’

She added, “I regularly met with Tae Ri unnie for training. I learned a lot by sharing thoughts and experiences beyond acting, and I believe these moments helped build the chemistry between our characters in ‘Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born.'”
