SM Entertainment has officially updated Taeil’s contract status with NCT.
On October 16, SM Entertainment uploaded an official statement announcing that the agency has officially terminated Taeil’s exclusive contract with NCT.
The contract termination became effective earlier on October 15.
The agency shared that Taeil is currently under investigation for a criminal case. It also added that the former NCT member’s situation matches the company’s grounds for termination and it was also difficult to trust Taeil as an artist.
Given the circumstances, both parties ultimately ended Taeil’s contract. The company finished its statement by expressing its sincerest apologies to fans and everyone affected by Taeil’s actions.
Earlier on August 28, SM announced the departure of Taeil. The agency shared that the disgraced idol was “sued for a criminal case related to a sexual crime.” His departure was concluded after an in-depth conversation with the agency.
