Previously, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Red Velvet’s Wendy confirmed their absence at the 30th anniversary concert of SM Entertainment, causing regrets among fans.
At the same time, the 2 female idols both later expressed disappointment in SM, with Taeyeon scathingly talking about the company’s unwillingness to organize her stage, while Wendy criticized SM’s late announcement of her absence – just 5 days before the concert.
These remarks of Wendy and Taeyeon have since become the talk of town, catching the attention of not only fans, but also SM employees themselves.
In particular, according to SM staff on the office platform Blind (requires valid company email to create an account, and therefore is a famous source to gauge opinions of entertainment agencies’ situations), Wendy and Taeyeon’s actions made them “furious” and “beyond disappointed”.
These people pointed out that they worked day and night for the concert, yet idols are abusing their power by dragging out the matter on to fans-dominated space like Bubble.

- Saying that on Bubble is also a form of power abuse. Didn’t the company have agreements with the performers first before putting the lineup on the poster? I’m so sick of them being treated like gods, but then they act so differently as quick as you flip your hand. If you are complaining that much, just leave!
- I’m beyond disappointed, I’m furious. Everyone’s working their asses off for the event, while they dismissed all those efforts over some Bubble messages? Reading all these articles, I have so much to say but I’d rather not… If you’re a senior, act like one. If you’ve. been in the industry for a long time, contemplate carefully before speaking.
