SNL Korea’s parody of LE SSERAFIM’s Coachella stage and ZEROBASEONE Kim Jiwoong’s “cursing” controversy has reached the attention of K-Media. The content also received mixed reactions from the K-pop community.
On September 9, Korean news outlet Xports News reported that “SNL Korea Season 6” released a parody of certain K-pop artists.
Host Kim Seong Kyun was reported to re-enact himself as an idol in the group named Kyun K, who mimicked LE SSERAFIM’s heavily criticized Coachella performance in April.
korea’s snl has always been like this
they lack an ideas, so they just pick up anything to make fun of
even when minor is suffering from death threat and have to close comments https://t.co/R5dJnhC03x— vL (@semvle0502) September 8, 2024
The host also re-enacted ZEROBASEONE member Kim Jiwoong’s controversial fancall in February, when the idol was allegedly heard saying “shib*l,” a Korean swear word after the call had ended. The issue ignited backlash against the idol, as well as WAKEONE’s countermeasures to disprove the incident.
