Following her powerful acting transformation in Netflix’s original series “The Glory“, which earned her the Grand Prize at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, Song Hye-kyo returns as Sister Junia, a bold and relentless character determined to save a boy named Hee-joon (played by Moon Woo-jin), who is possessed by an evil spirit. Sister Junia is a fearless and driven figure who pushes forward with her plan solely to save the boy.
Song Hye-kyo portrays Junia with delicate nuance, blending an icy, composed exterior with a heartfelt and desperate sincerity, creating a character never seen before. Not only does she complete this fresh role, but she also delivers an irreplaceable presence with her commanding charisma. Song Hye-kyo will also showcase a new dynamic with Jeon Yeo-been, who plays Sister Michaela, a character initially conflicted and resistant toward Junia but ultimately drawn to her cause. Their compelling chemistry as two nuns risking everything to save the boy raises audience expectations.
Director Kwon Hyuk-jae stated “Song Hye-kyo’s words, expressions and gazes as Sister Junia shine as a powerful mise-en-scène throughout the film”, highlighting anticipation for Song Hye-kyo’s performance. Song Hye-kyo herself shared “I lived as Sister Junia for three months, focusing solely on this character”, hinting at her immersive, high-density performance and delicate expressions that promise to deliver intense engagement.
