On January 7, a video titled “My father growls, growls, growls”, which is episode 72 of the show “Salon Drip 2”, was published on the YouTube channel “TEO_universe”.
During the show, actor Lee Hee-joon mentioned his connection with Song Joong-ki, saying that his close friend, actor Jin Sun-kyun, loves Song Joong-ki. Additionally, all three of them came to an acting club, leading to them becoming close.
The actor then explained about the acting club, describing it as a kind of “acting study” group where members reinterpret scripts and perform improvised scenes.
Regarding this, Song Joong-ki added that seniors in the group even created a curriculum, adding, “I’ve never learned acting officially, so it was such a great experience for me.”
Toward the end of the broadcast, the conversation shifted to family. In particular, a video where Lee Hee-joon was caught saying “Oh, Daddy’s working” to his child during a phone call with the production team was mentioned.
“The baby loves me so much. When I get home, my kid can’t stay still. He keeps talking to me and clinging onto me”, the actor explained, adding, “And then, the writer’s call came in right at that moment.”
According to Lee Hee-joon, his 6-year-old son thinks he’s a book reader since he’s always reading scripts, while believes his mother is a footballer because “mom is always on the TV playing soccer”.
The actor also shared that his son resembles both mom and dad, and because the mother used to be a national athlete, their kid is super energetic, yet at the same time sensitive like dad.
The topic naturally turned to Song Joong-ki and whether his children resemble him or his wife more. In 2023, Song Joong-ki announced his marriage to former British actress Katy Louise Saunders and revealed they welcomed a son that year in Italy, where Katie is from. Recently, they also made headlines for having a daughter.
Responding to this, Song Joong-ki shared, “The first baby has the same lips as me but the eyes of my wife. The second one, on the other hand, has my eyes but my wife’s lips. But she has the nose of my wife for sure.”
When asked about traits he hoped his children would inherit from their parents, Song Joong-ki said, “My wife lived in many different places growing up so she speaks English, Spanish, Italian, and even French perfectly. Now she’s learning Korean. And honestly, even though she’s my wife, I can’t help but feel envious. When we’re at a party or some gathering, she’ll turn to one person and speak in English, then to another and switch to French, and then to the person in front and talk in Spanish. I really hope my kids can grow up to be like that.”
“I feel like that would really improve their quality of life”, the actor also explained.
