According to Star News, Song Mino did not report to work at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on December 18. This facility has been his workplace since March this year, following his transfer from the Mapo Facility Management Corporation, where he began his alternative service in March 2023.
It was confirmed that Song Mino had taken sick leave on this day for personal reasons. Diagnosed with Grade 4 during his conscription physical examination due to conditions such as panic disorder and bipolar disorder, he has been receiving treatment. On December 17, allegations arose regarding his attendance and falsification of work records, but he was absent the following day due to his sick leave.
L, the supervisor at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility implicated in suspicions of collusion with Song Mino, reportedly attended work on December 18 and underwent questioning. Star News’ attempts to contact L for clarification were unsuccessful. A representative from the facility commented, “The supervisor is currently under investigation regarding Song Mino’s negligence controversy and is unavailable.” However, they declined to confirm Song Mino’s attendance status, repeatedly stating, “We have nothing to say on the matter.”
Song Mino is set to complete his alternative service on December 23. However, as the end of his “military hiatus” approaches, allegations of negligence have cast a shadow over his upcoming discharge.
Previously, Dispatch reported that Song Mino had taken a five-night, six-day trip to Hawaii on October 31 and failed to properly return to work afterward. In response, YG Entertainment issued an official statement, “The sick leave was a continuation of the treatment he has been receiving since before his service. All other leaves were used in accordance with regulations.” They asserted there were no violations on Song Mino’s part.
Criticism has also been directed at the Military Manpower Administration for failing to monitor the situation adequately. The administration belatedly launched an investigation to verify the facts.
Adding to the controversy, Song Mino was embroiled in dating rumors with actress Park Ju-hyun just a day after the negligence allegations surfaced. The two appeared together in Netflix’s 2022 film “Seoul Vibe”.
Their past public displays of friendship have been revisited amid the dating rumors. In 2022, Song Mino sent a coffee truck to Park Ju-hyun during the filming of her MBC drama “The Forbidden Marriage”. That same year, Park Ju-hyun was spotted attending Song Mino’s brand launch event and solo exhibition, drawing attention. Both agencies have declined to comment on the rumors, citing privacy concerns.
