On October 9, director Jang Hang-jun shared his thoughts on actors with great personalities on a YouTube video. Here, the director talked about several actors he has worked with and who are known for their good character.
In particular, upon reading one of the anonymous questions posed to him, which was, “Who are the top 3 actors with the best personalities that you’ve met?”, Jang Hang-jun pondered a little before naming Ahn Jae-hong, Kang Ha-neul, and Suzy, without ranking them.
Jang first explained why he chose Ahn Jae-hong, saying, “Ahn Jae-hong gets along really well with the staff. We filmed in Andong for a long time, and on his days off, I’d see him walking around, and he gave me a feeling like a quiet and introverted person. It was so endearing and cute. He’s someone who’s easy to be around no matter where you go.”
Song Eun-yi, who was also present, agreed, adding, “I’ve seen Ahn Jae-hong on set a few times, and while he’s shy, he’s also witty and has the ability to make people around him feel comfortable.”
Jang then explained his choice of Kang Ha-neul, saying, “Most actors tend to stay in their cars during breaks, but Ha-neul would chat with the lunch truck ladies. He just loves being around people.”
Finally, Jang mentioned Suzy, prefacing it by saying, “I’ve only met her once, but…”
He then went on to praise her highly, saying, “Her reputation in the industry is really good. Among actresses, people love working with her. It’s like having an extra staff member on set. It’s not easy for actresses to be like that.”
Song Eun-yi also shared a personal story, saying, “I played tennis with Suzy a few times. When I returned to the court afterward, I noticed there were air coolers I hadn’t seen before. Suzy had donated four air coolers so people could play tennis comfortably in the summer heat.”
Jang continued to praise Suzy, saying, “I had the chance to observe her by chance, and she has a great attitude when it comes to listening.”
