On January 6, Taeyeon shared on a fan communication platform, “I wanted to perform on stage in a cool way, and I was really eager to perform two or three songs, so I told the company and waited. But to make a long story short, they didn’t prepare anything, so I couldn’t perform at all.”
She clarified, “It’s not that I have no enthusiasm or don’t want to do it. I just want to give my all on stage with sincerity and love, and that’s all. But since they didn’t support me properly, I’m seriously thinking about this. What on earth is going on?” expressing her frustration.
She continued, “I’m telling you this so that there’s no misunderstanding from the fans about me.”
SM Entertainment’s artists will perform on January 11 and 12 at the “SM Town Live 2025 in Seoul” at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Melon Ticket, the ticketing service, announced on December 12 that Taeyeon would not be participating in the concert. The specific reason for her absence was not disclosed.
Following Taeyeon, Red Velvet’s Wendy also decided to skip the performance. SM Entertainment sent a message to ticket holders on January 6, stating, “Red Velvet’s Wendy will not be attending for personal reasons.”
