Tastefully Yours Episode 8 Recap
The episode opens with Beom-woo rushing to stop Young-hye from using Yeon-joo’s recipes, but by the time he reaches her, it’s too late. However, Young-hye doesn’t leave this opportunity to give him a piece of her mind, asking him whether he ever thought about the people who worked under him. That night, he returns the recipe book to the restaurant but is caught by Yeon-joo. Thankfully, she doesn’t catch on to him… for now.
The next day, as the fight between Myeong-sook and Chun-seung escalates, Yeon-joo plans a day out for the team. At the restaurant, he serves a rather odd customer who doesn’t eat anything that he orders but leaves behind the money and a lighter. Beom-woo is confused and eventually realises that he’s someone from whom he had once stolen recipes. The fire was probably his way of exacting revenge. He rushes over to confront the man, who tells him why he did what he did, but it only makes Beom-woo angrier.

However, when he asks him whether the others know about his past habits, it hits a nerve for Beom-woo, and he warns him to stay away. And as if things weren’t bad enough for him, the last nail in the coffin happens when Yeo-ul applauds him for getting the recipes from Jungjae and asks him to shut it down. Unsure about what he should do next, he decides to tell Yeon-joo the truth, but the next day, they go out on their trip, and Beom-woo is mesmerised.
However, what they expect to be a fun trip full of heated pools and whatnot turns out to be a trip to a monastery where Yeon-joo’s aunt lives. It turns out to be enjoyable for the group, but in a different way. Beom-woo and Yeon-joo get even closer as that night she shares how her childhood was with him. In Seoul, Seon-woo gets a text from Beom-woo saying that he will not be coming back to Motto while they are awarded the Three Star Diamant.

The next morning, a furious Seon-woo goes off to meet his brother, while Beom-woo has a lot to think about after his stay at the monastery. When they return, he finally musters up the courage to tell her the truth, and he does start, but somewhere along the way, Yeon-joo kisses him. He is overcome with emotions, and when he finally starts again, Seon-woo makes his appearance, taking them by surprise.
That’s when Seon-woo starts to spill the beans, but Yeon-joo asks him to tell her himself. When he finally ends up telling her, she is heartbroken. Beom-woo asks him to leave, but the damage is already done. Yeon-joo, unable to believe the deceit, asks him to leave.
Tastefully Yours Episode 8 Review

This is the drama that we all need and want, and now that I’ve got it, I am heartbroken. Listen, I know this show is a little silly and doesn’t make sense most of the time (like, why would you leave your precious recipe book in an UNLOCKED DRAWER in a public restaurant?), but that’s besides the point. Yeon-joo and Beom-woo are sad and crying, and I can’t take it. The preview seems like it’s going to be even more sad in the next episode, and one can only hope that things get better from here.
I liked today’s episode. It’s quick, has some happy, some emotional and some sad moments. It’s packed with things happening and absolutely chaotic, which goes well with the series. I just need Go Min-si and Kang Ha-neul to stop crying and making puppy dog faces!
