What Happened So Far?
Episode 14 delivers one of the most emotional and intense chapters yet, as Yoon Gap awakens in his own body, only to confront the tragic cost of his return. While his mother rejoices, Yoon Gap’s reunion with Yeo-ri is heartbreakingly distant—her love now belongs to Gangcheol, whose soul remains trapped inside him. Their sorrowful goodbye is marked by the return of a cherished bracelet, a symbolic gesture that closes one chapter and prepares us for the next.
But Yoon Gap’s internal struggle escalates as Poong San manipulates him into betraying the palace, using cursed wine to destroy the King’s warding stone. In a powerful act of self-sacrifice, Yoon Gap resists, allowing Gangcheol to regain control and thwart the plan, but not without paying the ultimate price.

As Yoon Gap’s spirit is finally laid to rest, grief ripples through the palace, leaving Yeo-ri and Gangcheol to mourn the man who was both friend and rival. Yoon Gap’s mother is inconsolable, and his parting words reveal a quiet, unrequited love that never dared to bloom. The emotional weight is soon followed by new danger as Poong San escalates his attack—this time targeting the Queen through Sa-soon and the cursed wine. The episode ends with horror as the Queen is viciously wounded during a spiritual ritual gone wrong, setting the stage for an explosive climax.
The Haunted Palace Finale Predictions
The Haunted Palace Episode 15 is poised to be the most devastating and climactic chapter of The Haunted Palace yet. It begins with tragedy: the Queen, beloved by her people and protected by the King’s most sacred gift—the warding stone—is brutally slain by the possessed Sa-soon. Her death sends shockwaves through the palace. How could she die when she had the King’s strongest protection? The King, already fragile from the relentless spiritual warfare, begins to unravel. Overwhelmed with grief and suspicion, he starts to question the loyalty of those closest to him. His paranoia spreads like wildfire, infecting every corner of the palace.

As the capital mourns the Queen’s death, Yeo-ri, Gangcheol, the head eunuch, and the King’s two most trusted guards begin an investigation of their own. Their discovery is chilling—the warding stone, once potent and impenetrable, has lost all of its power. It wasn’t spiritual interference from the outside, but treachery from within. The haunting truth settles in: someone inside the palace aided Poong San. The realisation brings a grim shift in tone, one that confirms their darkest fears—there is a traitor among them.
As chaos deepens, the King begins to change. The eight-foot spirit—now fully awakened—manifests itself as the King and eventually seizes his body. The transformation is subtle at first: strange behaviours, moments of uncharacteristic cruelty, unexplained disappearances. But soon, the truth becomes undeniable—the King is no longer in control. Empowered by the glowing pearl and driven by centuries of rage, the spirit uses the King as a weapon to exact revenge, targeting the very institution that once tried to destroy him—the royal family and the capital’s people.
In a chilling twist, Poong San, now arrested, confesses everything. But he doesn’t repent—he revels in the destruction, knowing that even imprisoned, his influence lives on. His goal isn’t just to kill the King—it’s to break the very fabric of the monarchy from the inside out.

The Haunted Palace Episode 16 will have another set of twists. Faced with mounting destruction, Yeo-ri and Gangcheol are left with one impossible option: to summon the Grim Reaper spirit. But calling upon this ancient force carries an immense risk, particularly for Yeo-ri, whose spiritual core may not survive the summoning. Still, she is willing to sacrifice everything. With Gangcheol by her side, she steps into the unknown, determined to stop the spirit before it consumes the realm.
Gangcheol, too, stands at the edge of fate. His divine powers are fading, the consequences of defying the natural order. And in the ultimate confrontation, it’s foretold that he will pay the price. Yet, death may not be his end. Instead, Gangcheol will lose his otherworldly essence and be reborn as a mere human—alive, but no longer immortal. The curse will lift, but not without cost.
In a stunning act of self-redemption, the King, still partially himself beneath the spirit’s control, will fight back from within. In a brutal internal battle, he will suppress the spirit long enough to save his people, even if it means forfeiting his life. And with his passing, a new era will begin. Prince Gwang, long in the shadows, will ascend to the throne—a symbol of hope and restoration.

As the dust settles, the palace returns to peace. Gangcheol and Yeo-ri, forever changed, finally get their quiet ending. They marry in a modest ceremony, far from royal splendour, and welcome a daughter into the world, just as Yeo-ri once saw in her vision. The war is over, the spirits are gone, and the palace, once haunted, is now just a palace again.
