The Haunted Palace Quick Recap
So far, four episodes have aired, which have already stirred up the crowd’s anticipation. In the thrilling premiere, we meet Yeo-ri, a strong-willed glass artisan who wants nothing to do with spirits, especially not Gangcheol, a mischievous but cursed dragon spirit from her childhood. After a fiery clash and a mysterious vision of future motherhood, Yeo-ri’s peaceful life is thrown into chaos when her childhood crush, Yoon Gap, is murdered en route to Hanyang. To survive, Gangcheol possesses Yoon Gap’s body but finds himself trapped, setting off a wild chain of supernatural events. Yeo-ri, reeling from visions and guilt, rushes to the palace, determined to protect what’s left of Yoon Gap.

In Episode 2, palace life proves even more dangerous. Yeo-ri hides Gangcheol’s possession while fending off assassination attempts and investigating dark omens. She soon discovers that Yoon Gap’s soul may have been devoured by a sinister entity called the Eight-Legged Spirit. Meanwhile, spiritual imbalance in the palace worsens dramatically, culminating in the chilling possession of the Young Prince, hinting at a brewing supernatural war and far darker forces at play within the royal court.
Episode 3 heightens the danger as Yeo-ri learns her presence at the palace wasn’t a coincidence—it was part of a dark ritual plot. While Gangcheol plays politics to keep them alive, Yeo-ri strikes desperate deals with vengeful spirits to save Prince Gwang. A daring forest exorcism seems to succeed, but victory is short-lived: the true evil has slipped into an even deadlier vessel—the King himself, making their mission even more urgent and perilous.

Episode 4 explodes into action as Gangcheol battles the possessed King, only to uncover an even deeper conspiracy. With the Queen Dowager’s shaman secretly empowering the dark spirit, Yeo-ri and Gangcheol fight to sever its influence. They succeed for now, but face arrest, betrayal, and heartbreak. The spirit finally takes over Prince Young-in, and the real battle begins.
The Haunted Palace Predictions for Week 3
In the upcoming week, Yeo-ri will set out on a critical journey to retrieve her late grandmother’s shaman tools—powerful artifacts that could hold the key to defeating the darkness engulfing the palace. Determined to stop the eight-legged spirit, she will face resistance from Gangcheol, who will initially try to stop her out of concern for her safety. However, seeing Yeo-ri’s unwavering determination to save Yoon Gap and the other trapped souls, Gangcheol will eventually choose to stand by her side. Accepting their intertwined destinies, he will perform a sacred ritual to become her official guardian spirit, marking the beginning of their joint mission to confront the evil force and its true master.

Meanwhile, at the palace, Young-in’s escalating cruelty will throw the royal court into disarray. The King, who will struggle to hold onto his principles, will finally realize that the threat they face is no ordinary matter. Though reluctant at first, he will come to understand that desperate times demand bold actions. He will decide it is time to summon Yeo-ri back to the palace and uncover the truth behind whoever now controls Yoon Gap’s body. However, Yeo-ri and Gangcheol will remain unaware of the King’s search party closing in on them.
As they work together, Gangcheol will find himself overwhelmed by unfamiliar emotions. His human form will stir feelings he never knew as a dragon, and he will slowly develop romantic feelings for Yeo-ri. In turn, Yeo-ri, who will begin the journey holding deep resentment toward him, will start to see a different side of Gangcheol. Witnessing his sincere efforts to protect her, she will realize that he may not be the villain she once believed—and that he was not the true cause behind her grandmother’s death.

While chaos spreads through the palace and tender feelings begin to blossom between Yeo-ri and Gangcheol, the evil spirit will grow stronger, unleashing devastation in its path. In the midst of the turmoil, hidden truths will come to light, revealing the real reasons behind the spirit’s summoning. The Queen Dowager, once the proud orchestrator of the events that triggered this nightmare, will be forced to confront the consequences of her choices. With her beloved son’s life now at stake, she will be consumed by guilt and regret, realizing too late the cost of her ambition.
As tensions rise, loyalties shift, and secrets unravel, Yeo-ri and Gangcheol will prepare for a fierce battle—one that will determine not only their own fates but the destiny of the entire palace.
