The Judge from Hell Episode 7 Recap

In the dark of the night, Hwangcheon Villa tenant Yoo Jung-im is attacked by a masked man and is about to face a grave situation when Jang Myung-sook and Man-do appear and save her on time. The trio rushes to the police station where Kim So-young recognises the weapon Jung-im draws out for her. It is the same weapon used by the serial killer who murdered Da-on’s family.

The next day, the detectives at the station keep trying to solve the case of those killed by Bit-na. Meanwhile, Bit-na is moved back to individual court and later saves So-young’s daughter which lands her at the station. Things go smoothly there, but later that day, Da-on is unable to hold himself back from seeking help from the lady in the basement- Oh Mi-ja.

Mi-ja is the old woman who warned him to stay away from Bit-na and Da-on seeks her help. She once again advises him to stay away from Bit-na, claiming that she knew his parents and had promised someone to look after him. This catches his attention but Mi-ja reveals nothing beyond this. Da-on starts working on her suggestion, and this gets easier as Bit-na is also avoiding him.

However, the two end up meeting on the trek arranged by the villa’s owner the next day. They begin talking about Da-on’s parents and his relationship with So-young. Once again, Da-on feels something heal within him when Bit-na tells him that there is no way he killed anyone; showing him a kind of trust that no one had towards him.

Later that night under the influence of alcohol, Da-on confesses how he almost fell for her the first time they met which moves something within Bit-na. She tries to shut his mouth but he moves her away, only to soon fall down due to the alcohol. Bit-na carries him to his apartment and lays him inside. He holds her hand and tells her to either be good or bad to him as she is leaving him hanging from the confusion he feels when around her.

Bit-na slowly finds herself melting and goes to find a blanket, only to find an empty cola can that was used by her in his cupboard. Marked on it is the place where she killed her second sinner and she finally understands the reason why Da-on moved into the house opposite to her. The feeling of betrayal boils her as she calls for Man-do in an abandoned building, asking him about the can.

A-rong comes rushing from behind and fuels the fire, even suggesting getting rid of Da-on. Bit-na rejects the ideas immediately, claiming it to be an annoyance to deal with later. She leaves Man-do with a warning after which A-rong catches something wrong with Bit-na and tells Man-do to inform her if he ever sees Bit-na cry.

During an event, the CEO of Ko Food, Choi Won-joong is given an award. On his way back home, he stops his car to rescue a wounded dog which garners him endless attention and a positive image on social media. However, behind this smiling face is an evil like no other. With laborers from his manufacturing unit protesting in front of his office building, he decides it is time to take care of them.

He invites the chairman of this labor union, Won Chang-seon, to his house and subtly warns him to stop the protests. But Mr Won is not ready to let go of the reason for the protest and tries to escape from there. However, he is soon kidnapped and taken to a golf course where Won-joong is waiting for him.

He begins his torture of the old man as he strikes him with the golf balls, continuously hitting the old man in vital areas. Mr Won is then let go but as the old man drags himself through the streets, another vehicle comes by and takes him away. Meanwhile, Mr Won’s family is worried for him. They come across the cleaners who usually help Bit-na, unaware of their identity, and share their worries.

The two cleaners approach Bit-na for help who tells them that the man they are looking for is dead. Elsewhere, Mr Won’s body is found hanging in the woods and the case is assumed to be a suicide. But things soon take a turn when So-young and Da-on present the recorder that belonged to Mr Won, containing the audio of Won-joong’s torture of the man.

This leaves him flustered but she soon gains his momentum and insults Mr Won as a lowlife, showing his inconsiderate attitude towards human life. Later, So-young and Da-on are called by their superior who tells them to drop the case, but So-young refuses to go along with his whims. The two are angered by the happenings around them, but stay put on their path to find justice.

Elsewhere, Won-joong’s father pleads with Assemblyman Jung Jae-gul for help and soon, the case is assigned to Bit-na. During the court proceedings, she comments on how boring it is as it is clear that this case is going to be useless. Later, Da-on asks her for help in a tone that Bit-na is unable to ignore, so she accompanies him to the morgue where she touches Mr Won’s body to see his final moments.

She sees the torture he goes through but tells Da-on that he died due to suicide and not homicide. Elsewhere, So-young is secretly trying to find the killer in the Hwangcheon neighborhood and soon spots the man. A chase soon begins which leads them to a dead end where So-young is pointing her gun at the man while he stops in front of her.

Meanwhile, Da-on and Bit-na return and spot the former’s colleague to mistakenly tell them that he is secretly investigating So-young. Right then, a gunshot is heard and with worry for So-young, Da-on rushes towards the sound. Bit-na is also interested in the events happening, but what the two finally come to is an empty street with blood on the ground.

The Judge from Hell Episode 7 Review

We have finally come halfway through with the show and it is getting intense with each passing episode, bringing a sinner worse than the previous. Along with that, we see the hints of a demon falling in love with a human and vice versa, which is a love story that is sure to be doomed.

However, the intense chemistry brought about by the duo cannot be ignored and has been catching our eyes since episode 1. It wasn’t just Da-on who fell for Bit-na, but also viewers who fell for this unique couple. The two are really eye-catching and their relationship is only going to get more complex from here on.

Meanwhile, another element that has my attention is Satan and the real identity of the old woman in the basement apartment. The glimpse of Oh Mi-ja’s real identity in the mirror came as a surprise, but I am not sure who she is. On the other hand, it seems like Satan is the real villain in this show and I’m hoping for more hints related to who is Satan in the upcoming episodes.

Altogether, this episode was intriguing and intense in many ways and I am eagerly looking forward to what comes next on the show.
