On Sep 11th, Melon released statistics related to its “DJ Playlist” service, based on its own data collected since 2004.
IU was the artist most frequently selected by Melon DJs. A total of 9,160 DJs included IU’s music 91,479 times across 30,000 playlists.
Among IU’s songs, “Through the Night” was the most frequently included in playlists.
NewJeans‘ hit song “Hype Boy” was the most frequently featured song in DJ playlists, with 2,047 DJs including it in 4,556 playlists.
Among international songs, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” was the most popular.
Melon’s “DJ Playlist” allows Melon users to become DJs and share their custom playlists. Anyone can apply to become a general DJ, and DJs who show expertise and create popular playlists can be promoted to Power DJs after evaluation.
There are currently 24,396 active Melon DJs, with 113 recognized as Power DJs for their expertise. In total, these DJs have created 185,399 playlists, featuring over 10.53 million songs.
