tripleS’s Nakyoung Issues Apology Following Criticized “The Show” Encore Performance

K-pop group tripleS’s unit Visionary Vision recently faced significant criticism following their first music show win and subsequent encore performance on “The Show” on November 5.

The unit, which won against STAYC and Kep1er, received harsh feedback from Korean viewers regarding their vocal abilities during the celebratory stage.

The encore performance drew numerous negative comments from viewers, with many expressing concern about the group’s singing capabilities:

  • “This is the worst one yet…”
  • “Are all 24 of them like this..? I don’t really know this song, but there were a few other songs I thought were good. What happened to the vocals here?”
  • “Oh… This is uncomfortable to listen to. Had to stop.”
  • “They’re so off key that I can’t even tell what the melody is. Isn’t this their own song? I’ve never seen a group perform this poorly together before.”
  • “They’re not singers. And it seems like they’re trying to avoid singing by doing other things on stage, which… makes them look more pathetic.””
  • “Even if it’s a dance unit, they should’ve at least added a main vocalist.”
  • “A moment of silence…”

In response to the criticism, member Nakyoung took to a fan chatting platform to address the situation, sharing several apologetic messages:

  • “We got 1st place today, but I’m sorry for showing a disappointing side during the encore stage.”
  • “It’s such a happy day, but still…”
  • “I feel a bit regretful about not being able to show a performance worthy of 1st place.”
  • “I’ll practice harder and put in more effort to become a prouder TripleS!”
