Jeongyeon shared in a program about her activities during her long hiatus from the group and ONCEs were happy to learn about the steps she made to recover.
On August 31, the newest episode of the “Investigator” was released. There, artist and guest Kangnam mentioned that he owns a coffee shop. This led Jeongyeon to bring up how she used to work as a barista, much to Kangnam’s surprise.
Jeongyeon then recalled the time when she had anxiety disorder, which also led to her indefinite hiatus. The singer said that she became a part-time barista in her friend’s family cafe, where she worked from 6 am to 4 pm.
Kangnam: “For real? That’s great news! You worked hard to get to where you are now. You went through part-time jobs, school, and auditions all at once? And now you’re a star. You should write a book!”
Kangnam: “Do you remember that time?”
Jeongyeon: “This is something I’ve never told anyone yet. When I had a panic attack, I had to take a break. And during the break, I worked as a barista at my friend’s coffee shop.”
Kangnam: “You did? You didn’t just stay at home. You worked.”
Jeongyeon: “I would go to the coffee shop at six in the morning and work till four in the afternoon.”
Kangnam: “Wow, you worked hard.”
