In a show, Rosé revealed for the first time that she had a viral infection during COVID-19, due to concerns of BLACKPINK losing their fame.
On December 5, the “APT” hitmaker appeared as a guest on BIGBANG Daesung’s YouTube web show, “Zip Daesung.” Here, she looked back at her agony and stress during her earlier years as an idol.
When the entertainment scene was impacted by the lockdown in 2019, Rosé became worried about losing her job. As she kept overthinking BLACKPINK’s future, she got shingles in the middle of the pandemic.
Daesung who was surprised, exclaimed, “It’s hard to even get the jingles, but you got the shingles (herpes zoster)? Wow, it must’ve been so painful!”
Rosè then proceeded to detail how she got the viral skin rash, concluding that it was overall due to stress.
“(At the time), I thought, ‘What if no one looks for BLACKPINK anymore?’,” she narrated, “At the time, we were striving to go higher. But I was so worried no one would want us. I thought of what else could I do?”
Rosé, who has an MBTI of ENFP is quite imaginative, thus, she initially thought, “Ever since I was 16, I’ve been training to be a singer. But at my age. I could end up jobless.”
Due to this mindset, Rosé also revealed that she gave all her heart to working non-stop after she debuted, convincing herself that it was the right thing to do as someone with a mature attitude.
However, after experiencing mental burnout, the singer finally realized the importance of taking a break. Rosé recalled the solace she felt after visiting the beach for the first time after a while to watch the sunset, as well as eat freely at a famous restaurant.
Rosé went on, “The next day, I found myself paying attention to all the things I couldn’t before.”
