143 Entertainment announce Gaeun’s departure from MADEIN, again deny sexual assault allegations

In what I certainly hope is coincidental timing and not done in an attempt to bury this, 143 Entertainment has announced that member Gaeun has now left the group MADEIN. This follows denials by 143’s CEO of sexual assault allegations levied by Gaeun against him.

MADEIN’s member Gaeun has officially departed from the team as of today.
Since her debut last September, Gaeun has put in considerable effort for MADEIN’s activities, but due to personal circumstances, she has found it increasingly difficult to continue with the team’s activities, and it has been decided that she will leave the group.
From now on, MADEIN will continue with six members: Mashiro, MiU, Suhye, Yeseo, Serina, and Nagomi. All temporarly halted schedules will be carried out as planned.

But not only do they talk about the group status but also claim to have “clear evidence” the claims are false.

Additionally, we would like to address that the recent allegations regarding sexual harassment are not true and that we have several pieces of clear evidence proving these claims are false. Therefore, should any legal issues arise, we will address them with utmost sincerity and ensure that no doubts remain.

Okay, I don’t know how any legal proceedings might play out or what “evidence” exists, but what I do know is that just going by what they admitted themselves in their own defense, the CEO acted immorally and inappropriately. Based on what their own words at this point, I have no reason to doubt Gaeun’s version of events, and I hope she’s able to get whatever she wants from this in terms of justice. Moreover, I hope MADEIN and anybody else under the company is as well. Just terrible shit.

Not sure if any boycott has been organized completely yet, but I’ll try to stay in the loop on that somehow.
