According to SPOTV News on November 14, the “2024 SBS Drama Awards” is confirmed for December 21.
For the past 24 years, the “SBS Drama Awards” took place on December 31, allowing viewers to celebrate the year’s end with the network.
Last year, the event was moved up to December 29, and this year, it will take place even earlier, on December 21—eight days before the previous year’s date and even before Christmas. Since the long-standing “December 31 rule” was broken last year, there was a consensus within the drama department that rescheduling the event further would not be an issue, especially to avoid clashing with the “KBS Drama Awards” on December 31.
This year, with an abundance of successful SBS dramas, viewers are eager to see who will take home the top awards. With a strong lineup of Friday-Saturday dramas, attention is focused on which actor and show will receive the highest honors.
Among those in the spotlight are Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hyun, whose standout performances in “Flex X Cop” have earned the series a renewal; Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do, praised for their incredible acting in “Connection”; Jang Nara and Nam Ji-hyun, who sparked a sensation with “Good Partner“; Park Shin-hye, who impressed with her bold transformation in “The Judge from Hell”; and Kim Nam-gil and Honey Lee, who excelled in “The Fiery Priest 2”. These stars are all strong contenders expected to shine at this year’s “SBS Drama Awards”.
