BLACKPINK’s Rosé Almost Deleted “APT”? Praised for Great Mindset

In an interview with media outlet Vogue, which was published on October 18, BLACKPINK’s Rosé shared several anecdotes about her new song “APT,” a collaboration with global pop star Bruno Mars.

According to Rosé, “APT” was inspired by a Korean drinking game she loves —the “Apartment Game”.

However, after writing “APT” and returning home from the studio, Rosé kind of panicked, wondering if it was okay to write a song about a drinking game. She even reached out to the team and asked them to delete the song from their phones. But they told me they were already hooked on it.

Additionally, to honor Rosé’s Korean roots, the song consistently uses the Korean pronunciation of the word “apartment”  – “apateu” throughout.

Both aforementioned facts have received much praise from Korean netizens, and below are some of their comments:

  • The fact that she was careful with her influence is chef kiss
  • Woah, so she’s well aware of her influence and has been worried about it. Unlike what she worried about, there’s not even a hint of alcohol in the song, it’s just a song that makes you feel good
  • She’s really meticulous. That kind of thoughtful attitude is so good.
  • Wow so cute. Rosé is really thoughtful and cute
  • It’s okay because the “Apartment Game” can be played even without drinking alcohol
