Member of the group 2PM and actor Hwang Chan-sung appeared on the MBC variety show “Homemade! Homes,” sharing updates after a long time. When comedian Yang Se-chan asked, “It’s been a while since you appeared; I heard there have been big changes,” Hwang Chan-sung replied, “That’s right. I last came on in 2021, so it’s been three years. During that time, I got married and moved to a new house.”
Hwang Chan-sung announced his marriage and pregnancy in December 2021, receiving congratulations from fans after dating a non-celebrity eight years older than him for five years. He felt the joy of becoming a father when he welcomed his first daughter in July 2022.
During the broadcast, questions about Hwang Chan-sung’s married life followed. When Yang Se-chan asked, “Do you have your own space in your newlywed home?” Hwang Chan-sung responded, “Yes, I have a study,” surprising those around him. Jang Dong-min joked, “You have a study? Even after getting married?” eliciting laughter from the audience. When Park Na-rae asked, “What does a study mean to a married man?” Jang Dong-min replied, “I have a study too, but it’s a space for reading while sitting on the toilet…” making the studio erupt in laughter.
Hwang Chan-sung shared his long connection and decision to marry with his partner on Instagram when he announced his marriage. He wrote at the time, “There has been someone I’ve been dating for a long time. This person has been a safe haven for my unstable heart for a long time and has become a friend with whom I can talk about anything, as well as a lover. After I was discharged from the military, I was preparing and planning to marry this person, and unexpectedly, the blessing of new life came sooner than expected, and I’m considering getting married early next year (2022). I’m being very cautious as it’s still early in the pregnancy, but I thought I should let you know this first.”
Meanwhile, “High Kick!” released in 2006 is a legendary Korean comedy sitcom. Taking on a minor but memorable role, 2PM’s Hwang Chansung successfully made his acting debut in “High Kick!”. He played Chansung, a rebellious high school student. Chansung is initially one of Yunho‘s (Jung Il Woo) rivals but later insists on being Yunho’s best friend. He doesn’t know anything but Yunho. Along with Yoo Mi and Kim Bum, Chan Sung often hangs out at the Lee family’s house.
After achieving success with “High Kick!”, Chansung focused more on his singing career as a member of 2PM. Since 2011, he has been active as both an actor and an idol. His latest role was in the 2021 mystery drama “Show Window: The Queen’s House”.
