On November 5th, a video titled “Some things are forever…☘️ | BIGBANG Back After 7 Years” was uploaded to BIGBANG’s Daesung’s YouTube channel, “Zip Daesung.”
In the video, G-Dragon and Taeyang joined as guests. During the conversation, Daesung asked, “Do you remember the battle back then between YG and JYP?” to which G-Dragon responded, “I do.” Taeyang then explained, “I remember because it was my birthday. We went to the movies and then to an internet cafe. Our boss at the time called us and asked, ‘Where are you guys?’ So, we went there unprepared, and there was J.Y. Park, Jay Park, and JUN. K. from 2PM.”
When Daesung asked, “So, did you guys win?” G-Dragon laughed and replied, “We absolutely won.” Daesung pointed out, “There had been these show-offs between our companies since Rain and Se7en’s time,” and G-Dragon added, “During the battle between RAIN and SE7EN… we lost, as far as I know. I thought that tradition would end with us, but it continued. When iKON and WINNER debuted, it was with GOT7 and DAY6. But we knew the moment we saw it—we lost. So, they went straight to the practice room right after losing. We scolded them as soon as they arrived.”
When Daesung pointed out that “You’re the only ones who have won!” G-Dragon jokingly said, “The boss was so excited that we won, he bought us barbecue and gave us some money because it was Taeyang’s birthday. Yeah, that’s what I remember. We danced with the will to break a knee.”
