Gangnam B-Side Episode 2 Recap

Joining his new role, Dong-won faces obstacles on his path right from day 1 on the new team as his colleagues refuse to cooperate with him thanks to his past. He enlists the help of Jang-ho, who sells women and alcohol in Gangnam. Although Jang-ho is uninterested and hostile at first, Dong-won is able to blackmail him into helping and he starts searching for the whereabouts of Gil-ho. Meanwhile, the latter is keeping a low profile after shutting down his entire Gangnam operation but vows to get revenge and find out the culprits who killed Jung-hwa.

He meets with Psyche, who tells him that Jun-seo will get him any price if he delivers Jae-hee to him and Gil-ho asks him to facilitate a meeting between only the two of them so that they can work out a deal. Meanwhile, from the CCTV footage, Seo-jin figures out that Gil-ho had dropped Jung-hwa’s body off at the train station and starts to search for him as well. However, he comes across problems from Major Crimes and Prosecutor Tak, who refuse to look further into the matter and is set on getting Gil-ho and calling it a day. Unfortunately for them, Seo-jin refuses to bow down to their pressures.

Meanwhile, a car chase ensues, ending in Yun and Dong-won pulling guns on one another as the latter tries to protect Gil-ho. In the end, however, Gil-ho jumps off the bridge and into the water.

The short episode length works well for Gangnam B-Side as we get to know more information on how everything is working. However, I have a feeling the series will turn out to have a few twists and turns, considering I am getting an inkling of what’s to come from episode 2 itself. Although there are 6 more episodes to leave me spellbound, I am wondering what else is in store for the series. Episode 2, however, feels a bit like a transitory episode.
