On December 18, Soyeon appeared on the web variety show “YongTaro,” hosted by comedian Lee Yong-jin. During the show, Soyeon participated in a tarot reading related to (G)I-DLE‘s future.
When Soyeon asked, “How long do you think our team will last?” Lee Yong-jin checked the tarot cards and predicted, “At least till you’re 31,” giving his forecast for (G)I-DLE’s future.
Lee Yong-jin then asked, “Do you guys ever fight at all?” To which Soyeon honestly replied, “Every day.” When Lee Yong-jin expressed curiosity about how girl groups fight, Soyeon stood up and demonstrated by shouting, saying, “Like this.”
Lee Yong-jin, impressed by her lively reenactment, responded, “That’s how you’ve lasted so long. If you go behind each others’ backs you won’t last long.” Soyeon reassured him, saying, “There’s none of that with us.”
During the show, Lee Yong-jin also acknowledged Soyeon’s talent. He recalled, “When I first met Soyeon, it was back on the show “Do You Know Hip-Hop?.” Do you know what Byung-jae and I said about you after we saw your performance on stage? We said, ‘She’s going to make it big soon.’ Byung-jae and I were like, ‘She’s definitely special.’”
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE debuted in 2018, and as they approach their 7th anniversary, all the members have renewed their contracts, signaling their continued active presence.
Cube Entertainment, the group’s agency, shared a statement about the contract renewal, expressing gratitude, “We are thankful to (G)I-DLE for signing their contract based on deep mutual trust and aiming for even greater heights. We also sincerely thank the fans who have been waiting for this news.”
