On December 24, actress Gong Hyo-jin discussed the rumors about her “When the Stars Gossip” co-star Lee Min-ho during an episode of the YouTube channel Salon Drip. The video, titled “If You’re Cute, You Win | EP.71 Lee Min-ho Gong Hyo-jin”, showcased some honest and unscripted interactions between the two stars.
Ahead of the shoot, Gong Hyo-jin expressed her concerns about working with Lee Min-ho for the first time, “Because it’s his first time… I was just worried about… What if he acts too stubbornly?” She added, “When I’m in a variety show by myself, I am super honest without blowing up the interest the next day, but I don’t know about Min-ho.” She also shared that Min-ho replied, “You can say anything.”
Gong Hyo-jin then shared a funny moment from their interaction, mentioning, “’He’s mostly in bed rather than playing sports’ and ‘He’s a couch person’, I asked if I could say things like that.” Lee Min-ho humorously explained, “I don’t have much energy… I use it all when I’m working.”
Gong Hyo-jin also described Lee Min-ho’s laid-back nature, “Min-ho is always like this (Out-of-energy expression), so I’ll ask ‘Are you okay, Min-ho?’” She continued, “What was more interesting is that other male actors are like ‘I workout! Why?’ or ‘I workout a lot!’. But Min-ho is too too honest, which was really cool.”
Regarding Lee Min-ho’s first impression, Gong Hyo-jin revealed that she had heard rumors that he was a very tidy, business-focused person who only cared about getting the job done. However, she was pleasantly surprised by his true character. “I heard he just gets in character when working, so I was slightly disappointed. But he wasn’t. He always opens my drinks and stuff,” she praised.
When Lee Min-ho commented that he likes to take care of the people he cares about, Gong Hyo-jin laughed and said, “I also had the thought that he especially likes me,” Lee Min-ho responded by saying, “She made me feel so comfortable from the moment we met, which I liked. She’s Kong-vely. Her public image isn’t fake.”
Gong Hyo-jin jokingly added, “It’s hard to be liked by Min-ho but he likes me, thankfully.” Comedian Jang Do-yeon chimed in, calling him “Goo Jun-Pyo” (a character from Boys Over Flowers).
Meanwhile, Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho are set to star together in “When the Stars Gossip,” which will premiere on January 4, 2025.
