SBS released the new broadcast of “Curious Story Y” on December 27th, discussing the recent issue of Song Mino’s alleged inadequate military service and special treatment. Following the broadcast, articles have been pouring out and netizens have also been commenting on the case.
“Curious Story Y” included statements from those who are serving in the military together with Song Mino with evidence proving the male idol receiving special treatment. It is said that Song Mino avoided phone tasks and civil service tasks because he was afraid that the public would recognize his name and face. Pointing out Song Mino’s attendance problems, a social service worker said, “I saw him several times during the first weeks, but rarely met him later on”.
A journalist who investigated this matter revealed, “There are testimonies saying the male idol sitting and playing games, bringing a laptop and even a keyboard to do music while on duties.”
Earlier, Song Mino reportedly complained of difficulties in military service due to his social anxiety. However, netizens were very disappointed after the male idol was said to have attended a party in Gangwon-do and recently joined a running crew to build his body as his discharge schedule is approaching.
Amid the negative public opinion, the statements revealed in “Curious Story Y” have further fueled the backlash. Netizens criticized Song Mino, saying “If the case is this severe, he should be expelled from the entertainment industry”, “Make him re-enlist”, “This is so serious”, “He’s living such an easy life”, “The only answer to this case is reenlistment”, “How could he serve the military so unfaithfully?”, “He must re-enlist no matter what”, etc.
