Park Ji Hyun takes on the role of Danbi, a character leading a secret double life—a civil servant by day and an adult web novelist by night. This marks Park Ji Hyun’s first attempt at comedy. Sharing her excitement, she said,
“I worked hard to make Danbi appear both lovable and easygoing.”
Director Lee Jong Seok praised Park Ji Hyun, saying,
“Danbi is a character full of imagination, and Park Ji Hyun is a multi-talented actress who brings her to life.”
The cast also includes Choi Siwon, who plays Jeong Seok, a civil servant rediscovering his passion for life thanks to Danbi, and Sung Dong Il, who portrays Hwang, a legendary figure in the adult web novel industry.
Film Promotion Challenges
“The Forbidden Fairytale” initially planned to hold a press conference on December 12 to introduce the film. However, the event was suddenly canceled just two days prior due to “internal circumstances.” Industry insiders speculated that the cancellation was due to the political turmoil surrounding recent impeachment discussions. Despite this setback, the film’s release remains on schedule.

Park Ji Hyun is already enjoying success with “Hidden Face”, which premiered on November 20. The film explores desire and love among three characters in a confined space, and Park Ji Hyun earned praise for her bold and convincing portrayal of a character driven by raw ambition.
As of December 14, “Hidden Face” has attracted 962,900 cumulative viewers, nearing the 1 million mark.
