Jimin of BTS has achieved yet another historic milestone with his hit song “Like Crazy,” which recently surpassed 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, marking it as the first Korean song to reach this record on the world’s largest music streaming platform. As of October 28, “Like Crazy” continues to set unprecedented records for both Korean music and K-pop soloists globally.
Released as the title track of Jimin’s first solo album, ‘FACE,’ in March 2023, “Like Crazy” quickly ascended Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart. The song not only secured the top spot on Spotify upon release but also made Jimin the first K-pop solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In addition to its worldwide success, “Like Crazy” became the first and only Korean-language song by a K-pop solo artist to sell over 1 million units in the U.S., earning RIAA Platinum certification. In August, it reached another milestone with double platinum certification, having sold over 2 million units. With this achievement, “Like Crazy” was recognized as the best-selling K-pop song in the U.S. for 2023.
“Like Crazy” has set remarkable records on Spotify’s US Daily Top Songs chart. It held its position for an impressive 268 days, making it the longest-charting K-pop solo song on the platform. Additionally, with over 114 million filtered streams, it remains the most-streamed K-pop song in the U.S. It also held a significant presence on Billboard Global 200 for 61 weeks and Global (excl. US) for 68 weeks.
