There is speculation within the public and industry as to whether Jungkook’s message was in support of Min Hee-jin or whether it was actually a veiled criticism of her.
On September 14th, Jungkook posted on Instagram in support of NewJeans, which led to heated discussions across online communities about the true meaning of his message.
Some people believe that Jungkook’s show of support for NewJeans signifies his backing for Min Hee-jin’s return, interpreting it as him aligning with NewJeans’ vision.
However, others point out that Jungkook used the word “guilty” in his post, suggesting that it could be a subtle criticism aimed at Min Hee-jin, accusing her of using artists for her own agenda. Given that BTS and other HYBE artists have remained silent about the ongoing conflicts between HYBE and Min Hee-jin for the past five months, some speculate that Jungkook is addressing the broader issue and criticizing the current situation, with NewJeans now at the center of the dispute.
In response to a query from TenAsia regarding Jungkook’s intent, HYBE stated, “We are confirming the artist’s true intention.”
Meanwhile, on Sep 14th, Jungkook posted a message on his pet’s Instagram account stating “Artists are not guilty“, which many believe is a clear show of support for NewJeans. He included heart emojis in the colors that represent NewJeans’ members—blue (Minji), pink (Hanni), yellow (Danielle), green (Haerin) and purple (Hyein)—further implying his support for the group.
