During the official press conference for the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) held on Sep 3rd, the films set to be screened this year were introduced.

Amid the reveal of the opening and closing films, official selections, major events and the Asian Contents & Film Market, it was announced that a documentary featuring BTS’s leader RM would be screened, drawing significant attention.

The documentary, titled “RM: Right People, Wrong Place” (directed by Lee Seok-jun), which documents the making of RM’s solo album and captures eight months of his personal life before his enlistment, has been invited to the Open Cinema section and will be shown at an outdoor theater.

This documentary covers the making of RM’s solo second album “Right Place, Wrong Person”, released in May, and includes records from the eight months leading up to his military enlistment. This marks the first time a K-POP documentary film will be screened in a large outdoor setting at the Busan International Film Festival.

The released still cuts from the film show RM in a free-spirited atmosphere, capturing the audience’s attention.

The festival offers fans a special chance to see RM, who is currently serving in the military since his enlistment last December, on the big screen at an outdoor theater, adding to the anticipation.

This is only the second time that a documentary will be screened in the Open Cinema section of the Busan International Film Festival.

The festival organizers stated that the documentary is designed to be enjoyable not just for fans but for general audiences as well. Although RM will not be able to attend the festival due to his military service, the director and other cast members are expected to make an appearance to greet the audience.

TWICE’s Dahyun has also been officially invited to the Busan International Film Festival with her acting debut film “You Are the Apple of My Eye” (directed by Jo Young-myung).

The film, which has been invited to the “Korean Cinema Today – Panorama” section, depicts the blossoming emotions of a bright youth romance between the school’s problem child and the model student assigned to monitor him. Dahyun’s casting in the film was previously reported exclusively by Xportsnews.

This film is a remake of the popular Taiwanese movie “You Are the Apple of My Eye”, and in it, Dahyun shares the screen with singer-actor Jinyoung, portraying the vibrant and youthful spirit of their characters.

As this marks Dahyun’s first venture into acting since her debut with TWICE in 2015, fans are eagerly anticipating seeing a new side of her on screen.
