On December 17, a post on the Chinese platform Weibo claimed that 12 out of 16 members of a K-Pop girl group allegedly performed at a concert while having s*x toys inserted, which were supposedly being remotely controlled by wealthy individuals in the audience.
The post, shared by Weibo user “Flying Beggar Gang Iron Vest”, stated:
“The Korean chaebols are getting more and more depraved. According to Korean paparazzi Adwan, during a certain concert, 12 members of a girl group had ‘electric toys’ inserted, and the remote controls were in the hands of the chaebols in the audience… This Adwan claims to be ‘Korea’s top paparazzi,’ holding a status similar to a well-known paparazzi figure in our country. He has previously exposed dozens of scandals in the Korean entertainment industry, so the public tends to believe his revelations are highly credible.”
The post further alleged that this so-called “Adwan” planned to release a list of names before New Year’s Day, hinting that more “evidence” would soon follow. However, these claims are entirely unfounded and lack any credible proof.
No Evidence, No Credibility
Firstly, there is no known journalist or paparazzi named Adwan in Korea or on global platforms like X (formerly Twitter), where prominent industry insiders typically share information. This glaring absence underscores the baselessness of the allegations.
Additionally, an edited video is being widely circulated online, purportedly as proof of the accusations. However, upon closer analysis, the video is clearly manipulated and offers no legitimate connection to the claims.
To further highlight the absurdity, there is currently no 16-member girl group active in the K-Pop industry. This inconsistency alone exposes the fabricated nature of the entire story.
Rapid Spread Despite Obvious Falsity
Despite its obvious lack of credibility, the rumor has gained alarming traction on Chinese social media. Posts promoting the accusations have accumulated tens of thousands of likes and shares on Weibo, sparking widespread speculation and controversy.
No Official Evidence or Statement
As of now, no official list or additional “proof” has been released, and it remains clear that this rumor is nothing more than a vile fabrication aimed at smearing the reputations of Korean girl groups and the entertainment industry.
