Family by Choice episode 13 brings a new shift in the story as Hae-jun’s mother is convinced to meet him, San-ha begins his liberation journey while Hae-jun finds out about the duo’s relationship. Amidst all this turmoil, we see heartwarming moments Hae-jun shares with San-ha and Park Dal. While the former is melting hearts, the latter has fans asking for more focus on this lovely couple.
Family by Choice (조립식 가족) tells the story of a family formed by bonds of love rather than those of blood. Two fathers come together to care for their three children who share the bond of love as they grow up together. While life isn’t always smooth for the trio, and feelings of love make their way within them, the family is always ready to face everything together. Starring Hwang In-youp, Jung Chae-yeon, Bae Hyeon-seong, Seo Ji-hye, Choi Won-young, Choi Moo-sung, the drama is available to stream on Viki.
Episode 13 begins with Hae-jun’s mother getting down on her knees in front of Ju-won and San-ha hoping they take care of the young man. However, Ju-won tells her that it is Hae-jun who has been taking care of her and now hopes that she will meet her son who has been waiting for her for years.
Elsewhere, San-ha’s mother is at his house and upon his return, demands for him to return with her only to face a strict rejection from his side. The next day, everyone is looking forward to Hae-jun meeting his mother soon which leads to people getting suspicious about Jung-jae’s mysterious woman.
Later, when San-ha’s mother tries to make her way into his life after visiting him in the hospital, she is stopped when Ju-won stumbles upon the scene. Ju-won tells her that she has already handed San-ha to her when she abandoned her son years ago. While Ju-won lent San-ha with to for 10 years, and she is not letting him go back to Seoul because he belongs here with them.
Meanwhile, Hae-jun confronts San-ha about his insomnia and the latter finally crumbles down in front of him and cries out his pain. After spending the night drinking, they shock Ju-won, who stumbles upon the scene the next morning. Later, the trio gather together with their fathers at home for a meal and San-ha finally feels he is back home. With a promise to return as often as possible, he is finally happy. Later, the duo is caught by Hae-jun when sharing a romantic moment, leaving the latter stunned.
This episode was a rollercoaster ride of emotions that laid the foundation for Hae-jun and San-ha’s happiness. While their mothers are surely different, the love they hold for these women is something that they cannot avoid. As the two bond over these feelings for their mothers, their raw emotions are surely a moving scene in this episode.
Meanwhile, the soft scenes of the two couples are once again making viewers scream as they get cuter with each passing episode. While the SanWon ship is sailing in full force, the HaeDal couple is winning hearts with their cuteness. This couple really needs to get sailing soon because seeing their silly love-filled moments in every episode is teasing our hearts every week.
