Character stills of BIBI from Gangnam B-Side have been released.
Gangnam B-Side is a crime K-drama that follows a top detective who, after being demoted, joins forces with a prosecutor and a mysterious broker to take down sinister forces operating in the shadows of Gangnam’s nightlife.
Kim Hyeong Seo, better known as BIBI, will play Kim Jae Hui, the central figure in the disappearance case that shook Gangnam and the one who holds the shocking hidden truth behind it.
Jae Hui is a character who is cold on the outside but is a little innocent on the inside and possesses a fiery passion.
Regarding her character Jae Hui, BIBI said, “I thought it would be good to make the character really seem worn out by life. I wanted to show that it’s not just out of simple rebelliousness, but to reveal the traces of someone who has fought fiercely to survive. Because she’s always on edge, I portrayed the habit of clenching her teeth, which actually caused quite a bit of damage to my teeth.”
Gangnam B-Side also holds special significance for BIBI as it is the first series for which she auditioned.
Director Park Noo Ri commented, “As soon as she said her first line, she was exactly the Jae Hui I had imagined. I chose her without a second of hesitation.”
Ji Chang Wook praised her, saying, “When acting alongside her, I get to see different and refreshing sides of her. That’s what makes BIBI so charming.” He added, “I even cried just by looking at the face of Jae Hui, the character she portrayed.”
Gangnam B-Side will be released exclusively on Disney+ on November 6.
