Olivia Marsh, the older sister of NewJeans’ Danielle, is set to perform at the Yuewen Music Festival on December 28, 2024. This event will be her first international tour and will take place across multiple countries, including Singapore, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea. The festival will also feature prominent global artists such as Afrojack, ITZY, Daesung, Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi, KISS OF LIFE, among others.

Despite the positive nature of the announcement regarding Olivia Marsh’s upcoming performance, a journalist from 10Asia chose to adopt a controversial approach in their coverage. They titled their article, “NewJeans is in turmoil but Danielle’s sister will be setting out for an event in Singapore.” This provocative title seems to sensationalize the situation surrounding NewJeans and draw attention away from Olivia’s achievement.

Netizens quickly pointed out that the article was written by journalist Choi Ji-ye, who has been known to write negative articles about NewJeans and Min Hee-jin. Given this history, fans expressed concern that Choi Ji-ye’s framing of Olivia Marsh’s upcoming performance was more about stirring controversy than celebrating her achievement.
