Previously, Justin Baldoni accused his co-star, Hollywood actress Blake Lively, of sexual harassment, leading to him garnering public support while Blake suffered from criticisms.
However, it was recently revealed that Justin’s accusations were false, and he actually worked with a company named “TAG PR” to orchestrate a smear campaign against Blake Lively.
As it turns out, TAG PR was actually acquired by HYBE earlier this year with a 25 million USD investment. Additionally, HYBE retained a TAG PR manager Melissa, who is known to be a major contributor to Justin Baldoni and Johnny Depp’s case, to manage the firm.
Additionally, Jeff Benjamin, a famous K-pop journalist, previously stated that TAG PR, on behalf of HYBE, once reached out to him with “biased” and “misleading” articles against NewJeans and Min Hee-jin. He then double-checked the claims with the victims themselves, only to learn that no one in ADOR (at the time) was aware of HYBE’s smear campaign.
Now that the TAG PR issue with Justin Baldoni was reported, Jeff Benjamin seemingly referred to his previous statement regarding HYBE with a Tweet saying, “I never lied”.
On the other hand, in the case of Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, it was pointed out in a document revealed by media outlet New York Times that TAG PR (and Melissa) would intentionally spread theories and negative narratives regarding their targets via internet platforms such as Reddit.
This may also apply to NewJeans and Min Hee-jin, raising concerns about the agency’s alleged “dirty tactics”. As a result, fans are trending the hashtag #HybeOUT, in hope of spreading the matter and showing their disagreement against the firm.
