“It’s Like Min Hee-jin’s Story” ‘Namib’ Director Addresses Widespread Rumors

On December 16, a press conference for Genie TV’s “Namib” was held at D-Cube City in Sindorim, Guro District, Seoul. Present at the event were director Kang Min-goo and actors Ryeoun, Yoon Sang-hyun and Lee Jin-woo. Lead actress Go Hyun-jung, who was initially scheduled to attend, was absent due to a sudden health issue.

“Namib” follows the story of Kang Soo-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung), a fired star producer, and Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryeoun), a dropped long-term trainee, as they come together to pursue their respective goals.

Recently, online communities and social media platforms have raised suspicions that “Namib” was inspired by Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR.

Addressing these speculations, director Kang Min-goo stated, “I was aware of those reactions, but this work was planned and produced long before that issue arose. I don’t pay much attention to it.”

He added, “Our work is our work, and those matters are separate. We’ve focused entirely on creating our project without being concerned about such things.”

“Namib” is set to premiere on December 23 at 10 PM.
