Jang Geun-suk shared his changed mindset after undergoing thyroid cancer surgery and recovery.

On Sep 5th, Jang Geun-suk talked with fans live through his own channel. In a video titled ‘Real Home Live’, Jang Geun-suk conducted the live broadcast from his actual home bedroom.

Owning a pet cat named ‘Jang-go’ (a nickname derived from Jang Geun-suk’s name), Jang Geun-suk said, “Lately, people say I look a lot like Jang-go. Do I really look like him?” and humorously compared his expressions with those of his pet cat.

While answering live questions from fans, Jang Geun-suk shared, “My MBTI used to be ENFP, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become an ENTJ. I get irritated by things that weren’t planned when I travel. I’ve turned into J now.”

When asked whether he thinks he will ever get married, Jang Geun-suk responded sharply, “Do you think I can’t? I’ll handle it myself,” and then joked, “These days, when I meet people, they often ask, ‘Are you okay?’ I say, ‘I met you because I’m fine.’”

On mental management, he explained, “I do a bit of self-gaslighting to let positive thinking dominate my brain. This way, I change into a positive person. For example, after finishing ten levels of ‘Super Mario’, when the 11th level comes out, it can cause a mental breakdown. However, after clearing the 11th level, it feels good to have accomplished it. That moment seems more important.”

Jang Geun-suk mentioned that he recently traveled to Japan with actor Ha Seok-jin and interior designer Lim Seong-bin. He said, “We are close because we are alumni of Hanyang University. It was the most fun trip I’ve had in my life. We played around without thinking, just like in college. It was so much fun even just sleeping in a room with three beds.”

He added, “Since the thyroid cancer surgery, I’m not really the type to enjoy traveling, but now I understand why people travel. I want to go on a solo trip this year.”

Jang Geun-suk drew attention by revealing he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October last year and underwent surgery in May this year. He said, “Actually, when I woke up after being sick, the thought that came to me was ‘there really isn’t much time’. Isn’t it ironic? Realizing that there really isn’t as much time as I thought, I now plan to stop worrying moderately and instead, focus on doing what I want to enjoy. I think it’s better to do things and regret them rather than hesitate and not do them.”

He advised fans to throw themselves into things rather than worry. He said, “Just go for it and regret later. By the time you want to go for it, it might already be too late. So, I’ll cheer you on. I believe positive thinking will create a positive you and a positive tomorrow. Anyway, whatever you’ve been worrying about will eventually pass.”
