Stills from the script-reading session of A Virtuous Business have been unveiled.
A Virtuous Business depicts the story of four women who ventured into door-to-door sales of adult products in a rural village in 1992. The drama focuses on the independence, growth, and friendship of these women. The script reading session was attended by director Jo Woong, writer Choi Bo Rim, and actors Kim So Yeon, Yeon Woo Jin, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Sun Young, Lee Se Hee, Kim Won Hae, Choi Jae Rim, Im Chul Soo, Kang Ae Shim, Seo Hyun Chul, Jung Soon Won, Kim Jung Jin, Park Ok Chool, Park Jee A, Kim Sun Mi, Joo In Young, Hong Ji Hee, Sim Wan Joon, and Jeon Soo Ji.
Kim So Yeon plays Han Jeong Suk, a housewife who, to pay for her son’s education and rent, starts door-to-door sales.
Yeon Woo Jin plays Kim Do Hyeon, an American-style detective. The story of how he, a police academy graduate who was quickly promoted at Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, ended up at Geumje Police Station, where he has no connections, raises curiosity.
Kim Sung Ryung plays Oh Geum Hee, the eldest sister of the Bangpan Sisters. Kim Sun Young comes as Seo Yeong Bok, who is so in love with her husband. Lee Se Hee plays the single mom Lee Joo Ri.
Kim Won Hae plays the grumpy old-school husband Choi Won Bong. Choi Jae Rim plays Jeong Suk’s husband Kwon Sung Soo. Im Chul Soo as Yeong Bok’s affectionate yet incompetent husband Park Jong Seon.
Furthermore, Kang Ae Sim comes as Jeong Suk’s mother, Lee Bok Soon. Do Hyun’s fellow officers at Geumje Police Station are played by actors Seo Hyun Chul and Jung Soon Won. Kim Jung Jin plays Uhm Dae Geun. Park Ok Chool’s character runs the neighborhood grocery store, Park Jee A’s the butcher shop, Kim Sun Mi’s the rice store, and Joo In Young’s the hardware store.
