Lim Ji-yeon Transforms From Downtrodden Slave to Life-Changing Role

On October 22, JTBC unveiled the first teaser poster featuring Lim Ji-yeon in the upcoming weekend drama “The Story of Lady Ok.”

Set to premiere on November 30, “The Story of Lady Ok” depicts the intense survival scam of Ok Tae-young (played by Lim Ji-yeon), whose identity, status, and husband are all fabricated, and her desperate protector, talented man Cheon Seung-hwi (played by Choo Young-woo). Lim Ji-yeon, known for her overwhelming expressiveness and unique presence in every project, will showcase two completely different sides of her character.

The Story of Lady Ok-poster

The first poster reveals an ironic scene of the slave Gu Deok-i, dressed in tattered rags, riding a flower palanquin. The contrast between her faded, shabby garments and the colorful, luxurious decorations of the palanquin visually represents the slave Gu Deok-i’s fate as she lives a life at odds with her status.

Moreover, the slave Gu Deok-i’s posture and expression while seated in the palanquin are noteworthy. Despite her unappealing clothing and lackluster face, which shows signs of wear, her sitting posture and expression exude an unexpected elegance.

Especially captivating is the phrase “the fate of a slave in a flower palanquin,” which, combined with her mixed look of anxiety and confidence, hints at the complex psychology of the slave Gu Deok-i, who must navigate her life as the noblewoman Ok Tae-young, sparking even more curiosity among viewers.
