On November 14, an interview of BLACKPINK’s Lisa with the US music media “Billboard” was published, drawing significant attention.
In the interview, Lisa confirmed BLACKPINK’s 2025 group comeback, yet expressed that she has no idea about plans for a world tour.
Additionally, the female idol also revealed her perspective regarding various matters, including her new position as the “boss” of her personal label, LLOUD.
In particular, Lisa mentioned how LLOUD ended up being formed, saying that BLACKPINK member pondered over contract renewal and adding, “Of course we want to do more, because Blackpink, it’s part of our lives. We still want to accomplish more. But on the other side, we also wanted to do something for our solo careers.”
As a result, they ended up becoming free agents for individual projects, and Lisa needed her own team. According to LLOUD’s head of global business Alice Kang, Lisa hopes to “make her presence known in this U.S. music market”.
As the boss of LLOUD, Lisa now has to participate in “corporate thrills” like budgets and expense reports, which leads her to being more frugal with her activities.
“I’ve been under YG, and everyone was taking care of that, so I never really knew what’s going on or how much we spent for our music videos or photo shoots or hotels. But now I do kind of know about it, so I was like, ‘Oh, OK — no first class anymore,” the female idol said.
According to Lisa, compared to a large company like YG, LLOUD feels like a family business with less than 10 employees, with everyone so busy they haven’t had time to hire people.
Nevertheless, Lisa likes the thrill, and disclosed that she has more creative freedom with everything nowadays.
Finally, when asked about the “green-eyed French boy” in “Moonlit Floor”, Lisa – who is rumored to be dating LVMH heir Frédéric Arnault, simply responded coyly that she “didn’t write that song”.
