The details for the highly anticipated MelOn Music Awards (MMA) have been announced. Korean news outlets reported the date, location, and theme of the yearly awards show.
On September 4, Star News released a report announcing the details for the 16th MelOn Music Awards, also known as the 2024 MMAs. The awards show will reportedly be held on November 30, at the INSPIRE Arena, in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
The slogan for the event would have the concept of “New Stream of K-pop,” which contemplates MelOn’s goal to reach newer K-pop trends. The MelOn award show also plans to gather K-pop fans around the world and introduce a new era of music as one of South Korea’s leading music platforms.

The INSPIRE Arena is also Korea’s first-ever multi-purpose indoor performance hall, which contains 15,000 seats, and a world-class sound system that can amplify every audience member’s experience during exciting performances.
Star News also reported that MelOn would also hold pre-promotions with gifts that are for fans of K-pop, including tickets for MMA 2024. The voting for the Top 10 and many other categories would also be held. Major announcements and events would be posted on the official page of MMA 2024 in Melon.
Kakao Entertainment CEO Jang Yoon Joong also shared a brief statement regarding the upcoming award show. The CEO mentioned MelOn’s legacy in the Korean music industry for over two decades, and that the achievements of artists and K-pop’s future would both be emphasized at the MMA 2024.
“For the past 20 years, MelOn has led the Korean music industry as K-pop’s ‘home base,’ which also led to the creation of the current global K-pop craze.
Through the MelOn Music Awards 2024, we would like to honor the amazing achievements of this year’s artists alongside fans, while also showing the new vision and future for K-pop. Please look forward to it.”
