On the Sep 7th broadcast of “SNL Korea Season 6″, Kim Sung-kyun appeared as the host and portrayed a character named “Kyun. K”, a member of the idol group “Rice”.

During the skit, Kyun. K humorously recreated LE SSERAFIM’s performance at Coachella, particularly mimicking member Huh Yunjin’s call to the audience, shouting, “Goa-chella! Are you ready?

While some viewers found the parody entertaining, others criticized it, arguing that SNL’s portrayal crossed the line from satire into mockery. They pointed out that the Coachella performance controversy occurred 5 months ago and that the group had already apologized for it, questioning the need to parody it now.

Comments from netizens included reactions such as, “They’ve been criticized for months, and this seems excessive”, “Why bring it up now? It feels harsh”, “If I were a fan, this would be hard to watch”, “It’s clearly mockery” and “How is this satire? Doing this on TV seems too much.”

On the other hand, some defended SNL, “Not being able to perform well is indeed a problem”, “No one forced them to go to Coachella”, “I watched the clip, and I don’t see the mockery”, “They’re just stating facts” and “There’s nothing wrong with making fun of singers who can’t sing.”

Back in April, LE SSERAFIM performed live at Coachella but faced harsh criticism due to their perceived lack of skill.

Addressing the controversy, LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chaewon commented during the showcase for their 4th mini album “Crazy” on Aug 29th, “We got excited without realizing it and couldn’t control our pace. We were lacking in some areas, but we will continue to grow from here.”
